How to upload website

If you have a ready-made HTML website, you can upload it to your hosting account using the cPanel File Manager in just a few minutes.

Steps to Upload Your Website

  1. Log in to your cPanel (yourdomain.com/cpanel)
  2. In the Files section, click File Manager
  3. Navigate to the public_html folder — this is your website's root directory
  4. If there are any default files (e.g. index.html placeholder), delete them first
  5. Click the Upload button in the toolbar
  6. Drag and drop your HTML files, or click Select File to browse
  7. Upload all your website files including HTML, CSS, JS, and images
  8. Once uploaded, go back to public_html and confirm the files are there

Important Notes

  • Your main homepage file must be named index.html or index.php
  • All files and folder names are case-sensitive on Linux servers
  • Images and CSS files must be in the same relative paths as your HTML references

Uploading via FTP

For larger websites, we recommend using an FTP client like FileZilla. Your FTP credentials can be found in your hosting welcome email or under cPanel → FTP Accounts.

Your website will be live immediately after uploading at yourdomain.co.za.
